As a certified Nutrition Specialist, and PN Level 1 Certified Nutrition Coach I am qualified to help guide you towards healthier patterns regarding nutrition. I am not a Dietician, or a Nutritionist so I do not, and cannot, give you an individualized meal plan or tell you exactly what to eat. Besides, even if I did you wouldn’t have the opportunity to learn and find out which techniques are best for you all you and what type of nutritional habits you can consistently maintain long term. All you would have is a list of healthy food that you may or may not want to eat.
However, what I can do and LOVE to do is teach you how to get a handle on food. I can help you learn how to identify healthy foods and what category they actually fall into. Together, and based on your goals we can determine how much food your body actually needs to meet your goals (spoiler alert: you may not be eating ENOUGH! ) and what quantifies as a portion for you (another spoiler alert: your portions are unique to your body, and your goals. I will help you to understand how to fuel your body and when, and how to maximize the work you are putting into the gym by prioritizing your nutrition in a way that fuels your body and helps shape your body into a stronger healthier version of an already amazing you.
What does Nutrition Coaching look like?
Nutrition Coaching is a one-on-one appointment based process where we meet and discuss your goals, your current relationship with fitness and nutrition and we create a roadmap of success for you to meet your goals. Nutrition Coaching is a process that is unique to each individual. Together we will uncover what habits, choices, and routines will lead you towards sustainable nutrition.
Sessions are $50/hr and can be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly depending on what kind of support you need and want.
How does it work?
We begin by creating a portion control guide to help you learn how much food, and in what quantities, you need to meet your goals. We will work together to narrow down foods from a variety of categories (protein, carbohydrates, fats, and vegetables) and then you will learn how how many servings from each of these categories you should consume daily. We will also review portion control sizes, and how to measure and track your food so you can ensure you are eating enough to fuel your body and not eating too much that your body begins to store the excess as fat. Along the way we will uncover tips and tricks to help you add healthy habits into your daily routines.
You have the option to document your physical starting point. This can include taking a number of helpful measurements: weight, body measurements, body fat percentage and starting progress pictures. By utilizing each of these tools we can track progress along the way by using more than just the number on the scale (which most times fails to indicate the success we are making).
Pictures and measurements may not be your thing - and that is OK!!!! These numbers are just one way of measuring success, but there are so many other ways we can track nutrition consistency and success! So do not be discouraged if you do not feel comfortable being measured or photographed, this is your journey and we can do it any way that you feel comfortable.
We will meet based on your needs and goals. As we meet I will be available to help you make healthy choices, to support you and teach you some of the tools that can make nutrition part of your healthy lifestyle moving forward. We will dig deep to discover your real nutrition goals, and why you have them, what actually motivates you and how to find which practices work best for you. Some things we try will work, some things might work for your friend and not for you and that’s OK! We will keep digging, and coming up with easy practical ways you can add healthy nutrition choices into your daily life.
The best part about nutrition coaching is that you can do it from wherever you are! We can meet in person or via Face-time.
If you think nutrition coaching is for you, send me a message and we can see if we are a good fit for each other. I can give you the tools, only you can do the work. So if you are ready, let’s get started!
